6 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Great program A great program that helped me be well rounded and prepared to go into the field. There was not much help finding careers, but they did pay for a seminar that helped with licensing and board certification. The boards I was best prepared for Fitzgerald as this Program more focuses on preparing clinical knowledge you will use for your speciality as compared to a test. - Alum
- Great DNP program for Duluth/Northern MN Residents The biggest draw to this program was the slightly lower cost per credit than comparable programs in the state and their admission process was very quick so I was able to start classes soon after applying. This program was also very doable while working as a bedside RN. I continued to work at least 0.4 FTE throughout and this obviously helped with costs but also allowed me to continue to gain valuable nursing experience while taking classes. The professors were all knowledgeable and passionate about the advanced nursing field and enjoyed sharing about their chosen specialities/careers as well and they truly wanted us to succeed and supported us as best they could. One downside of this program is that they cannot assist with clinical preceptorship placement outside of the Duluth area. - Alum
- Would Recommend Gave me the ability to do 1/2 load for 4 years rather than full time load for 18 months- very helpful with a current career/job and family. Most instructors were great. Clinical placement was hard but I think that had to with the faculty running placement. You can find your own placement and that worked well. Large grants available for rural communities- helped pay for the last 2 years of my schooling which was wonderful. - Alum
- Wonderful Program While they would help find a preceptor, it was not at a location in my home area. However, the clinical rotation they placed me in was a great experience. The instructors were fabulous and cared about you as a person. The information gained was helpful in passing the examine and obtaining a job. I was not able to work full time while doing clinicals the last year, but prior to that I was able to. Cost of tuition is more than at other schools, but I feel it was worth it. - Alum
- Not impressed The NP program was unorganized and I felt ill equipped for my certification exam and clinical practice. My preceptors were not helpful or kind. No one wants to teach anymore, they just advised me to look on You Tube. Somethings are not taught best in that way. Nursing requires hands on care, that you tube videos can’t achieve. Overall, I was not impressed by the education provided at this school. - Alum
