Value for $$$
- Fantastic value I worked every weekend for the entire full-time program. It was a great price for in-state tuition for the whole program. The education was superb and the instructors were knowledgeable. Preceptors were difficult to get and I had to find them on my own since I did not live in Gainesville. If you live near the university, then clinicals will be better since the college will set up the preceptors for you. There were many group projects which were okay. Clinical skills days were fun where you’d learn suturing, bronchoscopy, POCUS, and things like placing an ART line. The education prepared me for my certification exam which was ridiculously easy in comparison to the school exams. The issue with finding a job after school was solely an issue of living in Florida with poor compensation and benefits in most places. Going to UF great, but as far as working after school in Florida…moving out of state to a place that compensates you for what you are worth is a smarter move. - Alum
- Graduated 2017 Thought it was great to be hybrid. I don’t know how it is now, but a that time it was a great balance of school and home life. There was a campus in Jacksonville so don’t know if they still have that now. - Alum
- Great preparation The school afforded me excellent didactic material to form an excellent base of decision-making assessment of the patient and treatment implementation. The school has high expectations and follows through with helping the student achieve. Excellent practice. - Alum
- Great program The program prepared me for a career as an NP. The professors were excellent - Alum
- One of the first NP programs This was the first NP program at the university and was very disorganized. I did have a scholarship from grant of Johnson and Johnson foundation. So, tuition/books and stipend were provided. I had enrolled in Family and both Family faculty members left after second quarter. I felt that I was self-taught. I did a preceptorship at a Women's health clinic with great preceptors so ended up loving women's health and went on to be a Women's Health NP. At the time national certification was not required in Fl. When I moved to GA I had to take the exam to work as NP. I worked as NP for a few yrs & then went on to teach in Title X NP program for 14 yrs. When the program closed,I went on to work in a hospital based, women's health clinic until retirement at age 65. The NP program provided me with a great career. - Alum
