- In danger of becoming a diploma mill I was not offered assistance in finding clinical placement that all. There were students in my cohort that had to sit out a semester due to lack of preceptors. It was self-directed learning. That was very heartbreaking. I received a good education because of my preceptors and my own volition. Students deserve better. They run the risk of becoming a diploma mill if they don’t start raising their educational standards and help with preceptor placement. I am completing a post-masters cert and elected to go elsewhere. - Alum
- I loved it I loved it. It is primarily online, but the staff makes you feel like it is in person. I built relationships with my instructors just as if I were in person. They bent over backwards to work with my military schedule, schools, and deployment. It is a little costly, but it was worth it. - Alum
- Worst experience If I had known I was going to receive such inadequate education, I never would have gone to this school. They lie about helping students find preceptors, and it cost me having to stay back twice. They barely taught anything necessary for real-life practice as a nurse practitioner. The program focused almost entirely on writing papers instead of actually applying knowledge and building clinical skills. This was honestly the most stressful period of my life, and now I’m forced to work even harder to learn what I should have learned during school. I’m usually not someone who writes reviews, but I truly hope anyone considering this program skips it. If there’s another program that costs more but has strong reviews and actually follows through on providing adequate education, skills, and preceptor support, choose that one. You won’t regret it, but I promise you will regret going to this school. I seriously considered reporting the program to the CCNE. It was a nightmare. - Alum
- Excellent Biblical worldview FNP program I enjoyed the program and felt that the instructors cared about our work/life/school balance and wanted us to succeed. It was challenging to find preceptors in the midst of the pandemic for most programs, but there were several paid services that allowed me to complete my hours locally. I appreciated the spiritual emphasis in classes and communication from professors and university administration, as well. - Alum
- DIY Degree Spring Arbor was a great value and a fast program. I got through quickly and able to start my new career. The education however was VERY lacking. I feel there was more time spent on bible stories than psychopharmacology or therapy and ZERO help with clinical placement. I know a couple people who had to postphone graduation due to lack of clinical placement. I was lucky and had an established network after 17yrs as an RN in my community. This saved me. With good preceptors and mentors I was able to learn and feel prepared to do the job. The support from Spring Arbor is extremely minimal. All classes are DIY with no lectures, no live class time, no live face time with peer or teachers unless requested. The "residency" where you go visit and practice skills was useful in meeting my peers and forming some supportive relationships. Outside of that this was an extraordinarly difficult (heavy workload) and socially/professionally isolating program. - Alum
