- Best school for me Very understanding and knowledgeable professor. overall good program - Alum
- Sage College Troy Campus I received a great education, made great friends, and have had a wonderful career as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I primarily worked in acute care which was great for me. The campus in Troy was unique, good parking, great instructors. Many of us were married, had jobs and children and were able to offer a lot of support to each other. - Alum
- See below The program prepared me well to take the exam and write papers, not so much for clinical practice. - Alum
- Dept. head poorly trained/incompetent Pros - few. . .1) pharmacology classes held at Albany College of Pharmacy - OUTSIDE of Sage were excellent and was the only "saving grace" of a program that offered no new information to seasoned psychiatric nurses; 2) there is a real shortage of NPP's in the Capital District making our education (bad as it was) valuable to employers. Cons - 1) Dept. head/professor in charge of education knew less than any of the students - had little to no practical knowledge, and past experiences (which were few to none) were negligible. They required students to "teach" them about psychiatry, and clearly knew nothing beyond what those of us paying HUGE tuition were spoon feeding them. Additionally although they wer in charge of a NPP program, they DID NOT HAVE AN NPP THEMSELF; 2) Students had to find their own mentors/practicums with NO HELP from Sage; 3) Reputation of Sage program was poor - well known that it was run by incompetent professors - a laughing stock in the community; 4) Little to no help u - Alum
