Loma Linda had a focus on preparing nurse practitioners not just to do their jobs in the future, but with the idea that they were preparing their students for leadership. The environment is so supportive and helped me achieve my best. Each quarter the expectations appeared insurmountable. With the amazing instructors and guidance each obstacle became a triumph by the end of the quarter. If you are driven and aspire for leadership, this is your program.

Variety and Empathy
Loma Linda has the greatest variety in clinical hours and the professors are so empathetic. You leave ready to feel confident in PMHNP services.

Prepared for Boards
The program director Dr. Huerta was nice. The professors were all good I would have like some more experience with hands-on skills. I was prepared for the certification exam and passed my first time around.

Busy/Hectic
I found wonderful preceptors but coordinating my work schedule with theirs proved very difficult. I worked part time initially but had to quit for the last few months to finish the hours and work.

Preceptor Heaven
One of the main reasons I wanted to attend the LLU psych NP program was because I knew the school would set me up with amazing preceptors. I was fortunate enough to spend my time following MDs with the consult and liaison department. I can confidently say that my education was significantly enhanced because of my preceptorship experience. I am firmly against these online programs where an NP must find a preceptor on their own, and then they secure an NP with maybe 1-2 years experience. Loma Linda ensured my education was top notch.
