6 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- 2 degrees from ETSU I attended ETSU as both an undergraduate and also as a graduate student. I was on campus for the bachelors program and did remote learning for the masters program. ETSU has always had excellent recommendations in terms of the education that you receive for the money that is spent. I have always felt supported at ETSU, as an undergraduate and also graduate student. Professors were always invested in their students and would go out of their way to help when they could. I would definitely recommend ETSU for RN and/or NP education. - Alum
- Overall good program The only thing negative about the program was that it relied a higher percentage of your grade on papers and not testing or experiences - Alum
- rural medicine training ETSU excels at rural medicine training. having a Kellogg grant in the 1990's. They have a project EARTH that the public health offers. They have Appalachian Studies (with a medical anthropologist) that complements healthcare training. There is good coordination between these Colleges. The College has several Nurse Managed clinics in the region serving urban homeless and rural populations. The VAMC is across the street and is the VHA Center of Rural Medicine. There are multiple opportunities for training in the hospital, research in the hospital, and rural CBOC. - Alum
- Clinicals Did not have good clinical experiences. Seems I always ended up with preceptors who did not like having students and did not enjoy teaching. They were only with students basically because their employers were requiring them to; therefore, it made for bad clinical experiences where not much was learned. - Alum
- My program prepared me to be an NP. My program prepared me to be a confident NP and to become board certified. It was an on the ground in classroom program which suited me well. - Alum
