- Great program I really enjoyed the program at UNCW. I was not required to find my own preceptor, but if there was somebody that you knew that was available, they very happy to make that happen. - Alum
- Part time NP enrollment Overall the program was well laid out and was easy to navigate. I found it fit well with my schedule as I continued to work full-time while attending the program. I liked the separation of clinical hour requirements by semester to make it easier to attain while continuing to work to support my family. At the time I went to UNC Wilmington, there was very little assistance with clinical placement and that was difficult. I felt well prepared to take and pass my certification exam upon completion of the program. - Alum
- UNCW is the best ! At the time of my program 5 yrs ago we had to secure our own preceptors. The hardship was securing a preceptor in pediatrics and women's health which is likely the norm for most students. I was able to work part-time during my fulltime program and take out minimal loans due to the affordability of the program. I recommend the program wholeheartedly. - Alum
- UNCW FNP program This program helped me learn how to multi task with work and school. The instructors were great. - Alum
- Great option, especially for working moms It is a tough program no matter where/how you do it, but without this hybrid program I would never have been able to get my degree. The instructors were very supportive without coddling. The workload was heavy, as one would expect. I feel they definitely prepared us for certification. The sym lab was helpful. I wish there had been an official suturing course. Aside from instructors making recommendations on which practices had willing preceptors, there was no assistance with preceptorship. It was very stressful because there are other schools and online programs competing for the few preceptors. I believe everyone eventually found someone, but sometimes it was tenative, ie. after the start of class so, they had to put more time in clinic or you went between 2 different providers. Instructors sharing about local job openings was the only career guidance I received. It's a challenging program that was well worth the effort! - Alum
