- Indiana State University NP Program I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Indiana State University. The teachers encouraged discussion on all topics. I immensely enjoyed researching information for reports. I would get "lost" in evidence based articles and forget I would be researching information for a report. The program at Indiana State University prepared me well to pass my certification exam. We had to seek our own preceptors. I was competing with medical students in my home town to find a preceptor. It would become a bit harried. It all worked out in the end. I held 3 jobs when I was at Indiana University. One was full time, the other 2 were part time. It was manageable, even though, I sometimes would only have 3-4 hours of sleep a night! I would highly recommend Indiana State University for your master's in nurse practitioner. - Alum
- ISU FNP Overall the program was good with adequate resources available - Alum
- ISU NP program The program was a good fit at that time in my life. It allowed me to work and attend school. I feel like it provided the basis for entry into practice. - Alum
- ISU 2018-2021 The only difficulty I had during my time at Indiana State was finding preceptors. I live in Grand Rapids, MI and the hospital systems did not allow NP students to be precepted at their system if they didn’t work there. The healthcare system I work at currently doesn’t have a collaborative agreement with ISU but I was grandfathered in before those changes and was able to find preceptors once I went through the waitlist of 80+ Pa/NP students. - Alum
- WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ISU TO ANYONE This program was a true waste of time and I regret ever attending this program. I would never recommend anyone who is seeking a FNP to attend Indiana State University. The workload was an insanity amount of busy work without actually learning new things. The lectures often times were 100s of pages of power points with no attached lectures. Multiple times there were just many links to read through on the weeks instead of lecture content available to summarize important concepts. Often times links did not work or material did not match up to what was covered that week (like the pages in the book did not match to the content in the syllabus). When asked professors about lectures for audio learners, they would often say sorry I did not create the course and did not attempt to trouble shoot the errors. Save your money and go elsewhere!! - Alum
