8 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Helped find clinical sites I chose this school based on the fact that it was quite helpful in finding preceptors. Since I went to school, however, the program has changed and is more a national program vs local and I am not sure whether this has changed for finding preceptors, but when I went they were invaluable in helping me find really great clinical experiences. - Alum
- NP program Walsh's Family NP program was a good fit for me because it was a hybrid platform, allowing me to continue working full-time, focus on my studies and clinical rotations, while limiting the amount of time I traveled from Cleveland to North Canton. I felt the program was fairly priced. The limited availability of preceptors was a challenge and at times I was traveling up to 4 hours each day to my clinical rotation sites which was very time consuming - however, I believe this was more reflective of the limited resources in preceptors, and not a direct reflection of Walsh's program or lack of effort to assist in finding these individuals to help students complete their rotations with the required clinical hours. - Alum
- Excellent program! I felt very prepared for my boards upon graduation. I enjoyed the program and had very encouraging instructors. The curriculum was rigorous, but I learned so much. Very well organized program. - Alum
- Overall great, but you have plan ahead Thankfully I had connections and was able to secure preceptorships by reaching out in the semesters ahead of time. Faculty advisors were flexible when touching base with the preceptor and were available when I had questions or concerns. I was able to work 32 hours a week without much difficulty even during clinical hours, and had support from faculty. All the requirements for licensing in PA were met through the program, which made the licensing process after boards much less stressful. Overall, Walsh prepared me for boards and practice, but I also had to advocate and plan ahead to be sure there were no delays or problems. - Alum
- They actually want you to succeed! Walsh requires 2 in person visits in the program, which allows you to meet and speak with other cohorts. The majority of all staff create a welcoming environment and make you feel comfortable asking questions. The course load is manageable, but you have to be dedicated to be self taught. Would recommend this program to anyone! - Alum
