- Great support from staff Great balance of school and those who work full time. - Alum
- Great program The faculty is exceptional and the program is well-structured. I feel better prepared than many of my peers who went to different programs. It is expensive, and they won't be able to secure a preceptor for everyone (especially out of state students) but they do put a significant amount of effort into that process. Great experience. - Alum
- MSN-AGACNP The Duke Experience was like not other ! I was in the cohort that was still ‘on campus- in class’ for most of the program. My professors were amazing and helped me reach my goals and were always available to me. I made lasting friendships and colleagues that are irreplaceable. My advice is to make connections whole embracing the experience; there are exponential sources of knowledge and experienced mentors! - Alum
- Orthopedic nurse practitioner specialty I attended Duke university to obtain my postgraduate certification as an orthopedic specialized nurse practitioner. One reason is, they are the only program in the country that offers the especially. However, they did an amazing job preparing me and filling in knowledge gaps that I did not have during my family nurse practitioner course. I highly recommend this program and anyone who is wanting to specialize in orthopedics should consider this program. - Alum
- Very solid program The didactics were very solid with content from field experts as well as practical points from experienced practitioners. Expert guest speakers from specialty disciplines were a valuable addition. This foundation has allowed me to stay current with the science and practice standards. Great board passing rate. Connecting with good preceptors was challenging but I eventually ended up with 2 solid preceptors who are very helpful in transitioning me from the RN to the FNP role. I got to do several primary care procedures like biopsies, nail excisions, Pap smears and 2 deliveries! The program has just continued to grow over the time since I was there with new buildings, excellent simulation labs and has continued to be part of the larger Duke environment where we were exposed to interesting research and its's application to practice. My training remains strongly competitive with what I see in my current preceptees. - Alum
