5 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- To sum up Looking back, learning more about diagnostics as well as procedures would have been helpful. In my program, there wasn’t a lot of time spent on reviewing X-rays or labs. Having an elective for procedures would be nice. Overall, it was a good experience - Alum
- Absolutely great program that I recommend! I felt well prepared going from RN to FNP as a new provider. - Alum
- Excellent experience I went to ISU Mennonite College of Nursing for my masters in Nursing for FNP. I was able to continue to work full time. Professors were engaging and genuinely wanted students to do well. The only draw back was sometimes it was difficult finding preceptors. Since I live in the Peoria area I needed preceptors that were local. - Alum
- Great experience Graduated what seems like a long time ago now . . . 2008. I would've gotten my DNP there if it had been offered at that time, but it wasn't. MCN at ISU seemed liked a prestigious and impressive nursing/NP program even back then. Now it seems even more impressive, from what I see in the alumni mailings/magazines. Some day I hope to see the fabulous new lab they've built. I would attend there again in a heartbeat, if I had the opportunity. The teachers genuinely cared. There were lots of clinical sites. Such a fostering environment that really wanted to see its pupils succeed. Can't say enough good things. I worked as a grad assistant in the lab and that was a wonderful experience as well. Ever since then, I have harbored a secret hope that someday I might go back and teach, but I'm not at that stage in my life yet. We'll see what the future brings. - Alum
- Excellent Program Finding preceptors in my area was challenging due to there being several programs. Despite this, I would recommend the program to anyone. It was well taught and it took some finagling but I was able to work part time during the program. The amount you can work will depend on what hours and where you do clinical. I was well prepared as a green NP and passed boards with no issues. - Alum
