8 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Fabulous program in Utah Weber State University was a fabulous experience and great value. I did have to find about half of my clinical rotations but this wasn't as bad as it sounds, I just asked around with colleagues that I had met over my 5 years of nursing to help me get rotations. The program prepared me very well for practice. No new grad will ever be 100% ready and confident, but I do feel like an overall safe and knowledgable provider despite not having a full 4 year residency in my field like residents do. There is just no skipping the 5+ years it will take to master a craft. Finding a job: half of my cohort of 20 was employed before graduation from one of their clinical sites. The other half like me took a few months to find a reasonable job, unfortunately no one wants to hire new grads and this is a situation that no university can magically fix. Network now and always, here I am 1.5 years later with good jobs, pay, and schedule. - Alum
- Weber Review This is the only clinical advanced nursing degree but too much emphasis is placed on the scholarly project and not enough on making good clinicians. Clinical placement has gotten better since I graduated but my best clinicals were ones I had set up myself. - Alum
- great school for nursing degrees The program was manageable with my family life and working part time. I learned a lot. I wish they would have focused more on prescribing medications as that is what I have struggled with as a new provider. - Alum
- Great program I was able to pass my certification exam first attempt. There were times when getting preceptors for certain clinical rotations were stressful, but they were able to get everything worked out or lead me in the right direction. - Alum
- Good value Weber State was a good value to obtain a DNP. I was disappointed that they did not provide more consistent access to preceptors. Part of the reason I chose Weber was because other programs were up front that you needed to find your own clinical placements. I was disappointed to find that Weber did not have more preceptors in place; we were encouraged to find our own clinical sites more than I expected. - Alum
