- Online Option Chamberlain provided and online MSN program which was what I needed with 3 kids and a busy schedule! It allowed me to complete classes that best fit into my schedule. Unfortunately I completed the program around COVID and was unable to attend the live review! It was changed to online but would still have like a hand on approach/workshop. One disadvantage with the online program is that we had to find our own clinical rotation sites which was very challenging especially in the midst of COVID! I feel that the program did not provide any help in securing/assisting with clinical sites. - Alum
- Comprehensive and thorough Provided multiple resources which prepared me well for my boards. - Alum
- Preceptor Back then, preceptors were only based on cold calling providers which was very hard to do. The classes were very educational and LOVED the immersion weekend. I felt very prepared to sit for the board exam. - Alum
- My professors were great/my preceptors were great Finding a preceptor was terrible for me. I did not realize this when I started, but I nearly quit several times. I was in it too far, financially, though to quit. I chose this college at the time because my Alma mater in Montana had a wait time of two years and I knew that my window for furthering my education was closing. I should have waiting though, as the stress was terrible. I did find a preceptor at a practice in rural Montana, West Yellowstone, that sees a million visitors to Yellowstone National Park every year and I did most of my clinical hours there. I did everything there and had excellent training because I worked with skilled physicians and APRN’s. It was like working in an ER but in a rural community. We had helicopters there at least three times a week transporting people out and it was that experience that shaped my career. I also feel that my nearly two decades of working as an RN helped me with this program. - Alum
