- Good program The program itself was very good and well paced for a part time student still working. The program did not assist with finding a preceptor. They had a database of where previous students did precepting but other than that, no additional help with placing for a clinical rotation. Personally, finding a preceptor was more stressful than the actual program. Overall, I felt well prepared to pass my board exam. - Alum
- Great program! Tuition fee is a bit high. Great program but tuition is expensive. The schools schools help arranging preceptors. - Alum
- Good experience I had a good experience doing my FNP masters at GWU. I was able to take a train for my on-campus experiences and split hotel rooms with other students, which helped a lot with costs. I debated doing a part-time degree while also working part-time vs a full-time degree and not working. Going full-time and not working was best for our family at the time, and that was very manageable. The worst part of the program was the lack of preceptor support. I was lucky to find a healthcare system that took a chance on me and helped me find placements for all of my clinicals aside from pediatrics (I now work for that same healthcare system) but many of my classmates truly struggled, with some having to pay out of pocket, drive 4+ hours round-trip, and/or temporarily relocate to find enough clinical sites. I did feel that the program itself + the great preceptors I was able to be with made for an overall good experience that left me well prepared for my new job as an NP. - Alum
- High tuition for not finding precepting sites I graduated six years ago. Thankfully, I was able to find precepting sites in a timely fashion. The school should have contracts with hospitals, and provide monetary compensation from the students tuition, for the preceptors. This would ensure the students have a preceptor, and make sure the preceptor is providing an adequate education for the student. - Alum
- They did great with what they had The professors are extremely invested in success of their students. They are accessible. They answer questions readily, and are willing to do anything to help us be successful. They are the most knowledgeable and ready to help professors I’ve ever met. Unfortunately, the structure of the program, including course content, including the methods of teaching. Do not adequately teach pathophysiology or help a student understand complex disease processes. There is substantial holes/learning deficits simply because the courses do not adequately cover the scope of practice that an NP should have. - Alum
