- Family Nurse Practitioner UAH prepared me for taking my boards. I enjoyed going to school at UAH. The class was small. We learned book knowledge in the classroom. If you had good preceptors you learned real world experiences. I think that is how all nursing is though. I would recommend UAH’s FNP to anyone wanting to advance their career. - Alum
- Great Program Graduated in 2023. Excellent program. I felt prepared after I graduated and the teachers were very helpful. They were always available. - Alum
- Preceptorships were great, for the most part The program enrollment was small in those days, and the faculty helped arrange our preceptorships. Mine were great, and one in a teaching clinic lead to my first job, in a teaching clinic, modeling patient/parent interaction for med students (peds clinic). It was almost like an internship for me and the support from faculty and staff was great. - Alum
- Great Program I attended class on the weekend and did my preceptorship during the week. I had great instructors who seemed to have a genuine desire for the students to excel academically and put that learning into practice. Classes were thorough and covered material needed to pass the certification exam. - Alum
- Very autonomous, I did my own thing. I was allowed to do my clinicals in my home state of Tennessee. I found my own physicians, there were very few advanced practice nurses at that time (1992-1993) and I don’t think I ever even had any as a preceptor. The time went by very fast and I enjoyed it. - Alum
