23 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Rush University The university provided some options for preceptorship but not enough to cover all the required hours. It was a bit difficult to find but I did call around the clinics and found places willing to precept an NP student. - Alum
- great education I was able to work up until the last year of the program. I'll admit the program was expensive and I'll be paying student loans forever and i'm 67 years old. Had no problems passing the certification first try. I've met a lot of new grads in the years that I've been an NP and its a bit frightening to me the basic things they don't know or don't know that they don't know, from other programs. Its a bit scary and I feel it projects negatively on our profession. I've collaborated for a number of them, and one was so inept, I refused to be the collaborator. No experience prior to school and zero basic knowledge. Anyway. I"m proud to be an alumni of Rush. There was many reasons I chose Rush. Great School. Worked best with my schedule And a million years ago my mom (an RN for over 40 years) was at Rush Presbyterian. S - Alum
- Doctoral Program I thought my doctoral program at Rush University was stellar with exceptional advisors and faculty. - Alum
- Rush was great Rush was a wonderful school, despite the amount of workload. I felt I was more prepared during rotations than my peers who attended other schools. They really prepare you for becoming an advanced practice provider. Unfortunately the DNP project itself was a bit cumbersome and I didn't get the support other students did. - Alum
- Good program for mom and full-time employee Overall my experience was good. Being that I previously completed a rigorous Master program I knew what would be needed to complete this program. I do wish some of the core courses were more rigorous specifically psych pharmacology and psych neuropathophysiology. They were good I just feel they could of challenged us more. I felt my DNP course work was spot on and pushed me to be a nurse leader and scholar. Overall good quality program and less expensive than my Master's. - Alum
