15 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Great to prep for research and real world Michigan has a top notch program that emphasizes both research/education and prep for practice. I learned a ton when I was there. I don’t know if it is still the case or not, but Michigan has faculty and staff to help with clinical placement, which was much easier for a time and cash strapped grad student to handle. - Alum
- Adult NP w additional focus in women's health I moved to Ann Arbor for graduate school. It would not have been realistic to commute. It was worth every penny that I spent and every paper that I wrote. The clinical rotations were excellent. I was very well prepared for the work world. - Alum
- UMich AGACNP Was able to work nearly full time during MSN program, with the exception of my last several months of clinic rotations. Work load reasonable. Education was like anything, you get what you are willing to put into it. My clinic rotations set me up for a new NP job. Again, you get what you put into in, let them see you shine and want you on their team. - Alum
- UM found us our clinical placements I graduated from UM with a masters in 2003. At that time they gave us our clinical placements which was great given that after that I heard from many students that they had to find their own placements. I am thankful that I did not have to do that! - Alum
- Well Worth Going Back to School! My master's at the U of M was my fourth nursing degree, navigating from LPN to AD to BSN and on to my masters. I returned to school at the age of 42, completing my masters in three years (1994-1997). The program offered me flexibility which was needed to continue my work and home life. At the time, preceptors were arranged through the SON. I see this as likely the biggest hurdle for current students, finding their own clinical placements. I have never regretted going back for my NP. I felt I was very well prepared and I felt that I was given the appropriate credit for my previous education as a nurse. - Alum
