- UVM DNP Program Very different experience during COVID19 and it was difficult to obtain clinical placement. I ended up having to find my own clinical sites for a few semesters. This is usually found for us though at no extra cost for us. During the years prior to COVID this was not a problem and we always had clinical sites. We did a considerable amount of travel - my last clinical site I had to drive 3 days a week across the state about 1.5 hours each way - took a toll on my gas, $$ of gas and vehicle maintenance. All other clinical sites were within 30 minutes of my home. Classes and overall workload was manageable and I was able to work as an RN during the program. I felt prepared for my exam and passed first try. - Alum
- UVM np Good classes, felt fairly prepared for entry to practice. Good support from faculty. Workload demanding with clinicals and work. Clinical sites hard to find. - Alum
- Frustrating but better prepared than expected While I was in the program I was frustrated with it, the professors were poorly prepared, gave a lot of busy work, didn’t know their own material. But I worked really hard and made sure I got everything I could from the course work and clinical placements. By the time I graduated and got a job, I was better prepared than my work place peers that had graduated from other programs. I now have students, sometimes from online programs, that are completely set up for failure or to hurt someone by their program. So, I’m grateful I graduated as a safe provider, I just wish this super expensive school would hold themselves to a higher academic standard. - Alum
- Well prepared I generally felt well prepared after attending a UVM DNP program. Felt that the clinical placements were valuable, there was an effort that was made to place students in clinicals to minimize traveling distance, and to ensure their objectives were met. I would recommend this program to anybody interested in completing a DNP. - Alum
- UVM NP program I had great preceptor placements, was able to work during the program (and my RN job in urgent care added greatly to my learning, and ended up as a clinical site), was well prepared for board exam (passed first try), felt ready to start practice, and have kept in touch with some professors who are now my colleagues. Highly recommend the UVM NP graduate program. - Alum
