9 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- WCU NP At the time I completed the program it was a small program. No more than 12 in our class. This afforded attention to our needs. Faculty was very supportive however having a strong background in ICU critical care made all the difference for me. I would recommend WCU. - Alum
- Descent Schooling Western was a great school that provided a hybrid learning option for commuters. I was thankful for the ability to work full time while also getting my degree. One of the biggest frustrations was securing preceptors. For those not living locally it was expected you find your own. Balancing the work load, preceptor hours and working full time was manageable. - Alum
- Great program I worked part time. Securing preceptors was a challenge and I lost one preceptor when he made a job change. I was fortunate to find a different preceptor due to a classmate recommendations. - Alum
- Challenging I used my own connections to find preceptors. Classes were challenging and I was still able to work. I was able to get a job right out of school. I had no trouble passing my cerification. - Alum
- Great preparation The MS(N) FNP track program at WCU prepared me well for my career. I have been a successful Family Nurse Practitioner since I graduated in 2009. The course was rigorous, which results in well-educated, prepared providers. The research courses were top notch. My graduate research project was published in a national peer-reviewed nursing publication. - Alum
