- Prepared me as a psych NP Leadership changes midstream caused some confusion.. Towards the end of the program it got better. However if the same leadership were still in place I would not recommend. The program was affordable. The number of required clinical hours was doable. - Alum
- Wonderful PMHNP Cert Progam I really enjoyed my experience in EKU’s PMHNP certificate program. The coursework was challenging but well-structured, and I felt supported by the faculty throughout. One of the biggest advantages for me was the flexibility. Being able to continue working while in the program made a huge difference. The clinical placements were solid, and I came out feeling confident and prepared to practice. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to advance their psychiatric nursing career without putting their life on hold. - Alum
- EKU experience I was able to work full time, had 2 small children and typically found placement with some difficulty - Alum
- EKU PMHNP post masters supportive & rigorous I previously graduated from 2 other big universities with top 10 in nation or world for nursing program status. EKU was outstanding in providing preparation & education & faculty were top-tier & supportive, while demanding excellence from their students- As it should be! The affordability factor added in? I was prepared to the same standards as my other universities. Precept: I worked on securing my precepts early prior to beginning the program. I would recommend every student take charge of obtaining precepts early as it was hard for some students to find placements that worked for their schedule. I’m a proud EKU Alum. The produce well-prepared PMHNP graduates. As with any program, you get out of it what you put in. Do not let the affordability factor fool you into thinking this is an easier program with lower expectations. I worked super hard and my first exam? I underprepared for. I never made the same mistake again. Nursing faculty were AMAZING! All talented and supportive. - Alum
- Not as expected In person program would be better than online. Able to pass certification exam. However, I feel the program didn't prepare me for my career. - Alum
