8 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Good preparation and clinical placements Seasoned faculty and broad selection of clinical placements with seasoned clinicians available for student selection. Like most PMHNP programs, they focused more heavily on developing skills/knowledge regarding psychotropics over talk therapy. - Alum
- OHSU NP Program Strongly recommend OHSU FNP program; I have been a nationally certified FNP for over 25 years and feel my education from OHSU prepared me very well for my career. - Alum
- Some flaws but overall excellent There were parts of my program I found very frustrating, and some classes (nursing theory) were useless, but on the whole, when I hear about other programs, it was excellent. Some of our professors (pharmacology) also taught the medical and pharmacology students. I loved the DNP year because I got to pick my own project, clinical location, and electives which was AWESOME. That was my favorite year. The director at the time I went through definitely played favorites, which was something I'd heard in advance and got to experience. But nothing is perfect. The good definitely outweighed the not so good. In particular, the MEDICAL and SCIENCE focus were great. As someone with a masters and license in a different mental health field prior to attending, the therapy classes were very weak but I hear from current students they've gotten better. - Alum
- Top tier Great program long under the lead of Dr Scharf, quality placements and didactics. Expensive. - Alum
- Excellent program! Excellent program -- professors are stellar, the courses are well planned and exiduted, finding clinical placements was acceptable (not too hard). - Alum
