8 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Prepared I graduated on 2007 and I felt like the professors did an excellent job to get me ready, not just for the boards but to practice as a Nurse Practitioner - Alum
- Great program I would recommend UT. I felt prepared for boards. It was manageable working RN position and completing the program and clinical - Alum
- Worth it Excellent program. Dedicated professors. Rigorous curriculum. Certainly sets bar high and prepares providers to function in complex healthcare system. - Alum
- Great experience! Overall, I am very satisfied with the education and training I received at UT. During my last semester I did have to discontinue working to accommodate for classes and preceptorship. Otherwise, I felt very well prepared at the end of the program. I also felt very employable and, honestly, I am living my dream life right now. Thank you UT!!! - Alum
- A Rigorous Program with Questionable Ethics Overall, the program is very rigorous, but there were quite a few fluff courses that wasted my time. There were several questionable actions by department staff and administration. First of all, it seems they used oral boards (now extinct) to dismiss people from the program who they didn't like. Secondly, the program director who taught Theory flat out told MSN students that she felt like we should be doctorally prepared in theory, and she proceeded to maintain doctorate-level rigor and expectations. I went from no theory classes to a doctoral-level class and almost failed (less than 85% is failing). Third, I know a student who was targeted, and I was as well. Administration admitted the pediatric faculty member didn't like me and would fail me for personal reasons. I had to change my major from Family to Adult, or I would not have graduated. I then had to do another 9 months at another program to become a Family NP. Very unethical factuly and there was no recourse. - Alum
