49 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Drexel acute care Drexel prepared me to pass exam and I was able to secure a job right out of school, which I am still at and enjoy. A lot of work but could have been more heavy on diagnoses/medicine/reading x rays/scans/critical care. All in all a good experience and would recommend. - Alum
- great program except… Teachers were excellent - had real-world experience not just academics. They did not assist with preceptor matching but were up front about that being your responsibility. They made certification prep easy and straight forward. They did not feed you a test but were clear about how/what you needed to know and how to do it. My only complaint was they gave us “orientation” to their medical library during the second semester but we needed access to this the first semester. This may have been fine for many of my classmates as they were graduates of their undergraduate program, but for those of us who were new to Drexel, it was a significant disadvantage. I needed to beg for help from the local hospital’s medical library in order to get through that first semester. Overall a great program and I recommended it to a friend who is a recent grad and board certified as well. - Alum

- Drexel WHNP Program The program was not fully organized. Would like to have had more hands on time with skills rather than practicing with actors as specialized patients. Would have liked to have help finding a preceptor as I had to find my own. - Alum
- Could be better Dr Burke, the primary care director, made it clear the first class of the program that your life should be put on hold for the durtion of the program. Friends of mine who were getting married or having children during the program were made to feel like those milestones in life were not important and should either be put on hold or should drop the program.. Once clinical placements started almost everyone in the program had to either drop thier status at work (I had to go part-time) or change to per diem. Tuition was manageable compared to other programs but I would have easily paid more to have my clinical placements confirmed for me. The school was basically no help and often stated if we couldn't secure our own placements within a 2 hour raduis across multiple states we would be forced to take a hiatus from the program for a year when the next clinical rotation occured. I was very prepared for boards and there is a multiple year 1st time sucess rate so you are sucessfully prepared. - Alum
