6 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- One of the top Viterbo University provides a curriculum that supports and promotes critically thinking skills, autonomy and diversity that are essential to be a successful NP. The staff are practicing providers that make I feel a the difference. I am so proud to be a graduate of Virterbo. - Alum
- Viterbo My program started out with a fantastic experience, thanks to the great professors and engaging learning environment. However, as time went on, there were some changes in faculty, including turnover and some shifts in teaching styles, which created new challenges. There were also concerns that some students felt singled out by certain professors. As the program progressed, especially in the final two years with the changes in professors, the emphasis shifted towards more independent learning, which required students to take on greater autonomy. While this approach encouraged personal growth, it also made the experience less collaborative and, at times, more challenging. Despite these obstacles, the program provided valuable opportunities for developing resilience and self-directed learning skills. - Alum
- Smooth as silk Getting my DNP at Viterbo was a breeze and worked seamlessly with my job. - Alum
- great program Viterbo has a great NP program; however, I don't think that any program totally prepares you for your first NP job and the challenges you will face. During my NP program, the staff helped arrange preceptorships, but I don't know if that's the case anymore. There are more challenges now as some of the local hospitals have contracted with other colleges. I had great instructors that really cared about my learning at Viterbo, this was before the time of online programs, so the format has changed a bit. I would highly recommend the program at Viterbo. - Alum
- Flexible program 16 years ago I completed my MSN for adult nurse practitioner. It was a 3 year part time program that allowed me to continue to work as an RN while going to school (until the last summer residency/clinical). Focus was on primary care so there was a lot I needed to learn as I started my first job in a specialty area. The ANP-BC credentials have since been retired by ANCC and Viterbo now has a DNP program, but I was glad I pursed my graduate education when I did to get the optimal return on my investment. - Alum
