- Undoubtedly the best. There seems to be a large emphasis on preceptorship placements so I will start by saying that was NEVER and issue. JHUSON places you in the specialties of your interest and other considerations such as your strengths and areas that need refinement. The same system that is used to place medical residents is use. You enter you preferred specialties (critical care, thoracic surgery, cardiology, etc.), preferred location(s) (they have over 9,000 contracts with sites/preceptors nationwide) and then your program director tailors your placements further to your personal needs and goals. This program isn’t for those looking to get a piece of paper proving graduation—this program is for those with inherent desire to be the best. The program matches the academic rigor of the medical school—-the two programs overlap in simulation labs and didactic. All faculty must be actively practicing and are held to research requirements to stay on staff—-no dusty, outdated professors. - Alum
- Slightly Disappointed This program has good intentions, and I think it has the potential to be great over time. Student feedback will help tailor the program and provide better resources and support. The information included in the program is helpful, and professors are responsive and invested in the success of the students. I believe the professors are what make the program what it is. JHU is very lucky to have such dedicated and caring people representing the program. However, part of the draw was that they advertised support and guidance in locating preceptorships. I do not feel they met this promise at all. I hope this is something they have worked hard to better. Overall, I enjoyed my time at JHU, but it did not hit the standards I had expected from a JHU program. - Alum
- Post-Master’s PMHNP - workload: do-able, I worked 2 days a week as FNP while going through the program. -preceptorship placement: I believe they didn’t offer that back then. Now I precept JHU student and school is very involved in finding one for the student. In my experience, the school’s reputation helped me land on multiple sites. -Professors: mine was all online due to COVID. Good professors- some empathetic, some not. - Alum
- Program doesn't exist anymore They are phasing out the post-master's pediatric acute care NP. The program allowed me to work full time as an NP while simultaneously getting my post-master's. I had clinical placement selected for me which was super helpful. - Alum
- Clinical Heavy clinical emphasis Strong preceptors Access to high level specialty clinics - Alum
