- Great program! Well organized. I always had my questions answered when they came up. Instructors were fantastic. I highly recommend. - Alum
- Brandman was a good experience My experience with securing a preceptorship was the worst part of my experience with Brandman. They told us they would find us placements but when it came down to it we were on our own. Thankfully I had a friend in the class ahead of me that had already secured placements and I was able to get in with one of his preceptors and still had connections from former employment for my acute care preceptor portion. This is on par for NP programs as I am now precepting students who are having difficulty with placements. I just wish they had been upfront with this issue rather than telling us they would take care of it and leaving us holding the bag at the end of the day. - Alum
- preceptor ship Fortunately, I was able to get a fellowship for the preceptor ship at Arrowhead regional medical center which worked out very well for me even though it was a long drive for me - Alum
- Education Experience I am happy that I attended this college and I am giving back what I gained during my education because I precept PMHNP students so that they would not go through what I went through while looking for a preceptor for my residency program. Thank you - Alum
- Review on Brandman DNP program Ruth Milstein was the best part of my program. She was a great mentor and really cared. She was tough but it was because she really wanted students to succeed. I had to find my own preceptors, which was a bit tough, but I found them in time. The coordinator that was in charge of executing the contracts for these sites though was a bit more than inefficient, which delayed my start dates by several months (both sites). The program would have been better if there was more focus on psychopharmacology. One course is not enough. If there was one suggestion to pass along to ALL MSN / DNP programs: Be selective in who you accept into your program and don't allow just anyone into your program. I graduated in 2018 and since this time, I have seen far too many new grads not be prepared or go into psychiatry without having worked in psych. They all really struggle, which contributes to sub par patient care and high turnover. - Alum
