8 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Not the best I was very disappointed to be the last class at GVSU for the DNP program being 4 years vs 3 years. The class right after me earned the same degree in 1 less year. Also, I do not feel that the pediatric cohort always had qualified professors, as one of our professors worked in NICU. - Alum
- Good value Getting a Master’s Degree as a NP at GVSU prepared me for my role as a FNP. The workload was appropriate- I did have to find my own preceptors back then, which was more stressful. - Alum
- Experience I felt that GVSU focused more on the DNP project then making us excellent clinicians. I think that's why PA's have an easier adjustment into the workforce then NP's. - Alum
- Great overall program. I know it grows and improve I am a 1998 graduate! Getting ready to retire from big box practice. Through my education and experience I have been able to open my own practice I love my career. I made life long friendships at GVSU - Alum
- Graduated 21 years ago I'm guessing the GVSU FNP program has changed over the years, but my experience was very good overall. I didn't get great peds clinical experience, but am grateful for the otherwise great clinicals and preceptors. The nursing theory requirements felt like a waste of time, but otherwise I loved the classroom experience and am grateful for my education at GVSU. - Alum
