- need better prepared instructors I found all of my own preceptors. I continued to work while earning my DNP degree. I would suggest that the instructors provide more of their time and knowledge for their students. - Alum
- Overall a good choice, but probably not the best The professors were excellent and supportive, but it was mainly distance learning, which is less than ideal. Very little support in finding preceptors, especially if you are not in Missouri. Robust curriculum in many areas, except psychopharmacology, which is the lions share of our day-to-day job. I have had to learn quite a bit on the job. No support in finding a job after graduation, but still had job offers before graduation from previous preceptors, so they must have thought I was competent while still a student. Which I think speaks to the program. They also offer a discounted rate for military and families, which did help with overall costs. - Alum
- I loved Mizzou and recommend to any Any program you can get as much or as little as you like. This is a brick and mortar school with an online program. I had to find my own preceptors but they were supportive and helpful on affiliation agreements. I learned a ton, I did have to go to campus several times (was out of state for me) and had amazing experiences. I worked the entire time but was on a reduced FTE 0.75 once clinicals started. I would do it again and continue to work with school doing voluntary lecture each semester. This is not a fly by night for profit school. I got a great education and came out with NO loan debt. - Alum
- Husband physician - easy to choose preceptors for Being in the healthcare community for many years I was easily accepted for preceptorships. - Alum
- Program / clinical experience Program was thorough but clinical experience was limited to what was available in area. It did provide me with a basic knowledge needed to carry out my FNP role. Was tough finding an acceptable preceptorship in 1985, especially married with a child. Had to agree to preceptorship essentially not pursuant to my career goals, however, was a good experience. My experience >40 years ago will not or rather should not help new students decide which program to apply but is a reflection of the improvement in FNP education and choices applicants have today. - Alum
