5 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Newer Programs aren’t as comprehensive Pros: in person and hands on training Monitored clinical rotations Access to experienced NPs Students were all experienced RNs Cons: “Old girl” network of professors Too much pushing of political agendas Note: Today’s programs are mostly online and much less experienced nurses are allowed to enter the program - Alum
- Excellent Program This program was a hybrid format when I attended. I sepnt several days on campus each month. I think the interaction with other students is important. The standardized patients were used for clinical scenarios and that was an excellent learning experience. I felt well-prepared upon graduation. - Alum
- Early Graduate For the most part, all the DNP faculty were supportive, directive and influential in my career path. As one of the earliest DNP graduates (2009), there were many classes that overlapped that have since been combined. Perfectly, understandable as a new program. I do wish there had been more on Leadership: A seat at the table, as this was problematic for me in a physician-only culture. That's the thing about being a pioneer, you have to clear a lot of landscape or work around it. - Alum
- Well paced program with variety of clinical sites Clinical sites were comprehensive and varied for Family Practice certification success. Advisors were accessible as needed . - Alum
- Psych Np I was part of the first group to sit for the first adult psych np exam in 2001. I’m retired now but have preceptored numerous students over the years and I’ve hoped to improve the profession. Go University of Kentucky - Alum
