6 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Great program for a Master’s prepared NP This program only required a Master’s Degree when I completed it. Now a DNP is required. I was able to work full time and complete the program in 3 years. I’m unsure if this is possible now. - Alum
- Wonderful Program The director shows extreme dedication and is very knowledgeable. The program prepares you to become a successful NNP. - Alum
- A great school The ECU College of Nursing post-masters DNP program was one of the best career choices I ever made! Although I had been a NP for years, adding a terminal degree gave me confidence in my educational background. It truly boosted my knowledge and enhanced my critical thinking. - Alum
- Graduated in 2014 post masters FNP Securing preceptorship was a joint effort between myself and the school. During that time we did not have to pay for preceptors. I was able to secure grant funding via DHHS for working in an underserved area to cover costs which made the program nearly free. - Alum
- Limited teaching strategy used to support student Program did not accept credit for previous course work completed in my family nurse practitioner program and or doctorate of nursing program because the courses were completed more than 5 years before the start of the program. The required on-campus day were poorly utilized. Used vendor lunches during on-campus session to feed students. Discussion board grading criteria was focused more on the format than on the the content written by students. Psychopharmacology course was limited answering questions on the discussion board regarding a scenario that had difinitive right and wrong answer (which made it challenging to engaging in discussion) , and exams. Also, No asynchronies lectures were provided for this course. Very little time was spent on theraputic modalities. If you are looking for a program that use a variety of teaching strategies to support student learning this is not the program for you. - Alum
