5 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Excellent Program! I went part time (3 years) but this still was very rigorous. That said, the instructors and class content was spot on and used the latest guidelines. The program prepared me very well! - Alum
- Pros and cons of NP program ay SDU Pros of the program was it accommodated people who had to work in the day and had classes at night. I felt there was a lack of interest in any after school instruction or guidance. Also, the time it took to get the results of the reams of paper reports were delayed and I had to ask constantly about getting my paper back. There was very little guidance when the staff would make a visit with you to the preceptor and talk to you how the visit with the patient went. A lot of years have passed since I was there and I know the staff has changed and I hope for the better. - Alum
- good school Program was tough and highly demanding especially with the amount of clinical hours required. Was tough to maintain a full time job with school but teachers were competent and try to help you. - Alum
- Good hybrid program The class workload was manageable. The counselor at the school was always available and responsive. The only dawn fall was finding a preceptor, as the university does not provide one. But through the AANP website is easy to find them. - Alum
- Ten years later The educators were experts in their field and highly respected, very successful, practicing nurse practitioners and CNS. I had a great relationship with my professors, classmates, and director. I have kept in touch with many, and utilized the network created at SDSU for my future career. We did board review every semester and felt more than equipped to pass. - Alum
