6 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Online Program - for Master's Pros - For adult learners who require a flexible schedule. Convenient if you still need to work during daytime and able to get online in the evenings for homework assignments. Cost- effective. Did not require the GRE. Academically challenging and gained a wealth of information online and when on campus. Can work with your prior nursing experiences. Professors at the time I took the course were invested in your outcome to learn as much as possible until graduation. Cons - Will have to focus your attention on the program and time with your family will be limited. Advice for anyone who has daily time constraints, please don't start program if you have difficulty focusing. Also, Will need to find your own clinical sights when you're not local to Pennsylvania. - Alum
- Run very far away You had to fight your way through the whole program just for some small amount of help. They also had zero qualms about having you enroll and promising clinical sites with no follow through leading to delayed graduations. The only reason and way you can do this program is if you have a strong foundation in nursing because you will do it all on your own. They change your advisors so frequently also and no one provides correct feedback. I feel like I needed 3 months post graduation just to decompresses from the enraging lack of…in this program. - Alum
- It will get the job done. I went to this school because one of my co-workers thought it would be good to start school together. That didn't work out because it took them longer than expected to get me enrolled but I stuck with it. There is a fair amount of work. I feel like most classes are self-taught. I would have appreciated a little more guidance. With that being said, I am now an NP. - Alum
- Independent I had a great experience with this program because I had incredible preceptors. If you don't have established relationships with excellent preceptors this program will be challenging. If you are willing to work independently you will do well! - Alum
- Good, Solid Degree I had to do my own hunting for a preceptor, but was able to find one. I was able to work full time and go to school full time, but I was burning a lot of hours a day. The instructors at Wilkes were very professional and very nice, easy to approach, and the weekend residencies which were required were fun and I looked forward to them. I attended the campus in Wilkes Barre and would go again. I was in the MSN-DNP program, but had to drop out after the MSN because my wife was transferred in Delta to Washington State, where they did not have teaching credentials. If I had one criticism, I would ask they be credentialed in more states to prevent that from happening to someone else. I have not had a chance to go back and finish and now I am 70, still working, but it does not make sense to go back now and finish. Overall, a good school and a wonderful experience. - Alum
