Ratings & Reviews §
13 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- I would recommend Fisher! I was able to manage working full time during most of the program, I dropped to part-time but mostly due to scheduling conflicts (not workload). I feel Fisher was very supportive and wanted me to do well! - Alum
- Well Rounded Program This was a great experience. I enjoyed my time at Fisher! - Alum
- Graduated 10-15 yrs ago, may be different. If you want a solid scientific based program that teaches you about diagnostic testing and solid disease management, this may not be the program for you. Very weak on medical education. They rely heavily on your undergrad education for the program. When i went there most of the classes were taught by student presentations. I am a straight A student and I was not impressed. If you want a program that is not terribly demanding (doable with a FT job), and you can just get through, then this is a good program. Realize that this was my experience 10-15 years ago. It may be very different now. They also rely on you to get your own preceptors. - Alum
- Room for improvement There were definitely some pros and cons. Unfortunately, most of the faculty at the time were not practicing NPs, therefore clinical insight was often missing in some classes. There was no guidance after graduation when it came to taking the boards, getting licenses, etc. I was able to complete my degree in 3 years attending part time while working full time. - Alum
- SJFC Review I went to SJFC for undergrad and grad school. I felt very well prepared for my career. All of my clinical placements were exceptional, and I maintained great contacts that I had been in touch with after graduation regarding career opportunities. I would recommend the program over and over again. - Alum
