6 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Do not choose this program I would strongly urge anyone considering this program to reconsider. This program did not help me prepare for my career, and if anything, their program hindered my education by causing unnecessary stress & treating students as if they are kindergarteners. The teachers here do not "teach," their online modules produce no content, there were multiple errors in their writing, the teachers didn't pronounce words correctly, they didn't give feedback on assignments in a timely manner. They provide no help with getting a preceptor, yet have expectations for how the clinicals should be scheduled and so they forced me to sign a form acknowledging that I would not have access to the school material because I was doing my clinicals out of order, when I'm lucky to just have found a preceptor. Overall, I don't see any value they added. I was not taught, I read the books on my own, I found my preceptors on my own. So this school helped with nothing - I fully regret spending my money here. - Alum

- Bayou Learning at its Finest Nicholls State University's Master's in Nursing program for Family Nurse Practitioners offers an excellent blend of flexibility and hands-on learning. The long-distance format was incredibly convenient, with only a few in-person days focused on essential skills like suturing, ensuring a comprehensive educational experience. The program also provided a valuable list of preceptors, simplifying the process of finding clinical placements. This support allowed me to concentrate on my studies and gain practical experience. Overall, the program was both educationally enriching and personally fulfilling, making it an outstanding choice for aspiring Family Nurse Practitioners. - Alum
- Good experience I enjoyed Nicholls. Downfall is they do not help you at all with finding a preceptor. But the program was good and tuition was much more affordable than other colleges. I got the education I needed to pass and reach my career goal! - Alum
- It was an experience My experience at Nicholls started with issues from the very first semester leading to what was clearly a violation of my rights as a student, calling my name out in her private practice not realizing that someone who also worked there knew who I was! When I brought it to administration, they acted like I was just complaining because maybe I was not doing well until they realized that my grades were actually VERY good and I had all of the supporting documentation I needed. The faculty didn’t even show up for the meeting and they (admin) wanted me to “simply let it go and graduate.” It was a terrible experience and definitely racially insensitive! - Alum
