• Poor FNP Master's Program I would NEVER recommend this program the way it is now and has been for at least the last 10 years. The faculty are poorly prepared to teach. There is no mentorship for new incoming faculty and that is because the director is so ill prepared himself. There is NO program mapping so the coverage of important material is not monitored. Also, this program is always on probation with ANCC (credentialing organization) as there is very poor oversight from administration. The director, chair and dean are not well prepared or mentored to understand their roles. LIU Brookville is governed by a Board of Directors which have absolutely NO understanding of what the MS FNP program really needs to function for faculty development. Therefore the students get passed through without proving their knowledge level meets minimum criteria to function as Family Nurse Practitioners. AANP and ANCC pass rates are very low for this program. Steer clear of this program if you want to be a good Nurse Practitioner. - Alum
• Awful for profit program The curriculum was garbage, the school ow for profit, they taught us to the exam and nothing more. 10/10 would not recommend - Alum
• Finding a Preceptor I believe LIU NP program should assist the students on finding a preceptor. Most of the time, students were left to find placement on their own. Graduate 2017 - Alum
• Prepared well for first np role and certification The program prepares you well for the certification exam. They do not assist in finding preceptorship so meeting clinical hours was stressful. Otherwise it was a good experience. They prepare you well for your first role as NP - Alum
• Supportive This program has small classes, and the staff were very supportive. They equipped you for your new "role/title". - Alum
