• Too expensive A bit too expensive. You can get the same quality of education at a less expensive online school - Alum
• DNP program @RMUOHP This was a DNP program for Experienced NP's. Attended 2005-2007. Specialty Endocrinology/Thyroid Disorders. Great program for the NP working Fulltime. The group flew out Q3 months for the first year for intensive classes 7 days, then the rest was online between onsite meetings. Program well organized, had group rate for hotels and shuttled students to and from campus during 7 days. 2nd year focus on specialty and capstone project. Faculty flew out to meet with preceptor and student for presentation for capstone. Flew to school for Graduation ceremony. I already had my preceptors aligned in my area. I already had my employment aligned post graduation. I learned a great deal in the program and felt well prepared. My focus was creating system change and new programs within organizations along with implementing research into practice. - Alum
• Would recommend I think NP education in general needs an overhaul, and is not rigorous enough. I have had to do a lot of self-directed learning during and post NP in order to feel confident/competent, and I don't think most NP programs adequately prepare students to be providers. They also do not provide much support around finding preceptors, and this is the hardest part. It's also the part that makes the most difference in outcomes and preparedness for practice. Nevertheless, I would recommend my program, but students need to know they will be on their own in many ways, and also know that additional self-directed learning will be required to be competent beyond the very basics. - Alum
