5 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- The program was not accredited And yet, the school promoted the program as meeting all the requirements to become a fully credentialed PMHNP. What more can I say? ANCC required all certificants from the program to repeat another PMHNP certification program within 5 years to maintain certification. There was a class action suit, which was prolonged and ultimately not very rewarding. We were not compensated fully for our suffering. CSUSM created a program for FSU PMHNP post masters certificants, and I attended that. Within that year, Fresno's program gained accreditation and then they created a remedial program for prior graduates that was much easier. So, it took me about 4 years to get an unencumbered credential. Fresno is now accredited, but I cannot recommend the program. Further, I would not recommend ANCC certification now that AANP is offering PMHNP certification. I believe ANCC was well aware that Fresno State was not accredited and their retaliatory requirements for all graduates of this program, was unfair. - Alum
- Excellent program and preceptors Our clinical team instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful - Alum
- Preceptor I had to find my own place for preceptorship. Private family clinics re easier to secure. Larger health organization will screen you just like a new hire. - Alum
- preceptorship experience Difficult to find a preceptor, school did not assist in placement, but professors did offer to precept while in the process of placement. - Alum
- Excellent program with good support and mentors. Excellent program with good mentors, skilled instructors, and excellent didactic. Instructors were practicing nurse practitioners that shared real life experience and instructed students to optimize postgraduate success. The program has continued to grow and evolve. - Alum
