10 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- FNP program I did the part time FNP program at Marshall. It took 6 semesters, but was definitely manageable to still work during the program and be successful. The first few semesters were virtual and then switched to a combination of virtual/in person classes. Marshall very much prepared me for my boards as I passed on the first attempt. Overall, I would recommend this program. - Alum
- Good NP program The NP program at Marshall University was very good. The cost was much better and was local to me, which were the main two reasons for attending. Sure, online could have been more convenient, but the cost would have been more than double and having a degree from an established university meant more to me than obtaining one from an online college. I was able to continue working full time hours and taking call for my job. Classes were in the evenings anywhere between 4-9pm. We had a small class size which made learning better, in my opinion. The only two things I would say negative about this program, possibly compared to other programs, is the overall lack of helping find preceptors; pediatric preceptors were especially hard to find. The second being there was no help with finding jobs immediately after school. But overall, I felt like this was a good NP program and would recommend. - Alum
- Excellent education, excellent value! Evening and night classes on campus made this dream possible and the program made it a realty. Great faculty, extremely knowledgeable, professional, and personal. Wish the greatest university would support the program more rather than treating it like an unwanted step-child. The university cowers to the medical school and makes the road very hard for the NP program with little support. If it wasn't for the dedicate faculty, this program would not exist which is shocking to realize from a major public university. They definitely have their political choice. SMH. So, the faculty and people made this program live up to the expectation one would expect when choosing Marshall. Marshall as a school, had nothing to do with. - Alum
- Great school I have been practice almost 20 years and have a strong background from the wonderful instructors in the program - Alum
- MSN experience My experience was pre-virtual education and was scheduled so students could continue to work and pursue their education. It was an environment that was supportive and as low stress as possible. I had no problems passing the boards and the experience was excellent overall. - Alum
