10 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Good education, nice facility, needs some help The u of u was great. They had access to many state of the art facilities to learn and practice. The integration and review of clinical time and learning is so important during your education. I feel that this area is lacking significant. I felt that I learned the materials but when it came to application and experience performing professionally with patients the integration of concepts was subpar. - Alum
- Pharmacology When I attended there was not a sych pharmacology course. I went back post Master's to take an advanced pharm course so that I could become a prescriber. - Alum
- Good Program - Could help more with placement The program was certainly adequate, however there was very little help with preceptorship and work placement after graduation. - Alum
- Guinea pigs I was in the first BSN to DNP cohort at the school. They learned a lot that year. For example, don't put DNP students in a statistics class that is designed for statistics majors. I still have nightmares about that class. It didn't prepare me in any way to become a nurse practitioner, but it sure waisted a lot of my time (2-3 hours a day) that could have been used studying something more useful. I was grateful that they provided the clinical placements for the most part. Many students that I precept now had no help from their schools in finding the clinical placement. - Alum
- Preceptorships I arranged all of my preceptorships. I had 5 different preceptors, one in pain management, one in pediatrics, one in OB-GYN, one in alternative medicine, and one in Family Medicine. I doubled or tripled the number of hours spent in each preceptorship for my own benefit. The one in pain management lead to a full time position in pain management, acute and chronic pain as well as hospital pain program and research. - Alum
