7 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Supportive interactive professors knowledgeable As an independent new Nurse Practitioner specializing in business interventions with new students, it is essential to ensure a smooth transition into the new role. To enhance preparedness, I recommend incorporating the Fitzgerald course into your program. Obtaining certification through this course prior to graduation to transition and be board certified upon graduation In light of the rapidly changing healthcare landscape, it is crucial to adapt to new situations effectively. Consider engaging independent contractors for instruction on CAQH preparation and NP independent billing. Familiarize yourself with the Medicare/Medicaid certification process and receive updated training on billing procedures, including utilizing AI for SOAP notes coding. I suggest exploring programs that integrate evidence-based data into Electronic Health Records (EHR) and offer recommendations for obtaining support and reimbursement for EHR funding through Medicare, Medicaid, and local community assistance. - Alum
- Good recommendation good school I graduated in2016 I had a great professor at that time. I had very good experience good experience and good clinical professors. I was placed in good environments where I was taught well. - Alum
- Subpar I personally find that there was too much focus on topics that we will not cover in practice. I think it would be beneficial to focus on neuropsych and pharmacology. If I did not speak to friends and colleagues I don’t think I would have passed my exam. The program did not discuss the role of neurotransmitters, like the dopamine pathway's. I did not feel well prepared . I purchased additional materials and joined a fb group to build on my knowledge Billing codes is something that also should be included while in school. I feel like my friends that were in cuny programs were better prepared. I don’t feel like I got my moneys worth especially being a private institution. It wasn’t worth the extra money and sacrifice - Alum
- Prepared for successful NP career. The program's name played a significant role in securing my first job, and I was prepared to work as an NP with minimal supervision. It equipped me thoroughly to pass my certification exam and secure employment upon graduation. While the program comes with a hefty price tag, not all students complete it; only those NP candidates who are truly well-prepared and possess extensive experience successfully finish the assessment exams. - Alum
