Value for $$$
- Full rounded graduate While there are no cheap graduate programs, I was able to afford LSU. The workload was such that I worked part time as a RN to offset the financial burden and graduated debt free. The program seemed tedious with all the leadership type classes, but now in practice I see the value of knowing business systems, etc. - Alum
- Great program and instructors Continued full time work. Most preceptors were at my place of employment. - Alum
- Good program Hybrid program with various class times including Saturdays with an online component. I do not prefer the online component as self-directed learning at the doctorate level can be difficult. Time management is critical to success in this program. Be prepared for 3 years with no breaks. Summer Fall Spring and repeat 3 times. Save a lot of money before enrolling, as it is difficult to work while in year round school. One advantage is LSU sets up your preceptors. - Alum
- Avoid-better options elsewhere I went here for my family nurse practitioner masters degree and my doctoral degree. I would not recommend it for either program. There is no support. It’s a very toxic environment. - Alum
- Less than ideal Students were responsible for securing preceptor relationships every semester without help from faculty. We had no pharmacology classes on diabetes, as "we ran out of time". Could not read an ekg when I graduated. Felt very unprepared for my new role and therefore was not successful. - Alum
