- Not a good choice Poor program, doesn't focus on actual medicine. The program did not prepare me for real world practice. It was a very very easy program, didn’t challenge me at all. I would recommend looking elsewhere. - Alum
- Good experience My time at SUNY was overall a good experience. I was easily able to work part time and go to school full time. At the time, they helped with clinical placement which was excellent. Although I am not sure this is the case anymore. - Alum
- Not for all I loved my classmates but the program at the time was not focused enough. I felt I had to do everything without help from the school- find a preceptor, do my own research on places to precept - which I felt was putting too big a burden on me with no help from them - Alum
- MS Family Nurse Practitioner The program was a combination of in- person and remote learning. The course work allowed me to continue working during my education and preceptorships. - Alum
- Good program The NP program at Upstate is generally a well run program. I graduated quite a few years ago, so I cannot say what has changed. I liked being able to find my own preceptors personally, but I also had a working relationship with many of them as a nurse. I found that the classes did prepare me for my boards. I did not like that we were not taught procedures as part of the program. I did not think that the advising was of any benefit, but I was extremely goal-oriented upon arrival. - Alum
