- Preceptorships I secured all of my own preceptorships, which was the expectation. I worked in healthcare as a Nurse Tech and RN for 7 years prior to working on my MSN/NP, so thankfully I had a good network to work with. I had one preceptorship in Wichita, the others were all out of town. I worked PRN while I was in the program. I had a great support system with my family. - Alum
- No preceptor help There was no help finding preceptors, when i attended 5 years ago. I found all of my preceptors myself by asking providers that I worked with. Hopefully this has changed. - Alum
- NP program Great experience while at Wichita State for their Master's in Nursing program. Comprehensive and affordable. Able to work while taking classes to complete degree. Would recommend - Alum
- Project I enjoyed the DNP program overall. The classes were beneficial and expanded my critical thinking skills. I learned a lot about the healthcare system and how to assist patients in navigating the healthcare system. The program would benefit from more PhD nursing professors as they have a different perspective on research and teaching. The hardest part of the program was the project. It wasn't organized or supportive of the students. I would give the coursework an A plus and the project guidance a D. Improving the project portion could make it an excellent program. Working with various patient populations must be incorporated into the program to enhance comfort with diverse patient care. Overall, my nurse practitioner skills have greatly improved due to the program. We also need more minorities as nurse educators. - Alum
