6 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- overall good went 2019-2023. it was very difficult and had to find all my own preceptors. my cohort worked with the program to improve things and I know we left it in a better place then it was when we started. I have precepted students graduating this year and feel they are well prepared. - Alum
- Great experience and preparation for NP role It has been a LONG time since I graduated. :) We were responsible for arranging many of our preceptors, which was a bit labor intensive. Hard to cold call busy providers when they don't know the student, but I had enough contacts at the academic center I was employed at to make it work. At the time we had a program heavily weighted in women's health (200 hours) but I believe that was changed to reflect more family practice in the following years. I thought Brian Goodall was a great faculty addition. - Alum
- Masters FNP Smaller classes, great teachers. I did the part time program and worked a .6-.8 depending on where I was in the program. Good prep for boards. Affordable. Toughest part was finding preceptors. No assistance with this and even working in hospitals and being a current RN at the time it was still very stressful and challenging. It was worth it but at the time tough. Overall would recommend. - Alum
- Career Preparation I think this is a very important part of educating RNs for NP practice. When I graduated, I only had the experience of my preceptorships to prepare me for 'real' clinical practice. When I started working as an NP, I was expected to perform at a much higher level than I was actually prepared for. What I am seeing now is that some medical facilities have 'internship' programs for new incoming NPs, which I think is awesome!! I wish I would have had that opportunity. All in all, I loved Metro State and the staff, and wouldn't change a thing!! - Alum
- Experience It was very difficult because we were the second cohort but it went fine and we had very busy time with School work I had a good experience - Alum
