9 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- I felt well prepared to work as an NP. As I graduated from Robert Morris University with my DNP I felt well prepared for starting my role as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I was pleased that we were connected with preceptors when I was in school and did not have to seek out my own preceptor for clinical experiences. - Alum
- Good program I worked full-time until my final semester. It was manageable as a single person. The program was good but expensive. - Alum
- Very Convenient The RMU DNP distant learning program was AWESOME! They supplied the statistician! - Alum
- Prepared Me I completed the accelerated part time DNP program at RMU from 2010-2014 (Family NP). The schedule and work load allowed me to continue working full time as an RN (3-12’s), which I appreciated. The curriculum was challenging and I felt that it prepared me for my career as an NP, BUT, there were a few classes that I felt were a complete waste of my time and my money. Hopefully these classes were removed or the content altered to be more pertinent to the field since this was over 10 years ago. I also think we needed more content in psych, since primary providers are usually the first/only providers to address psych concerns with our patients. For the most part it was my responsibility to find my own preceptors, but a few semesters I was able to precept with my professors. Overall, I was very happy with the program and have worked in Geriatric medicine for 10 years. - Alum
- Exceptional program I felt overly prepared upon graduation which was much appreciated when it was time to begin working. I did not feel the need to seek additional training, for example, a NP fellowship program prior to accepting a position. - Alum
