7 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- Short and Precise This program was great. I like the class schedule, time and the supports from faculties were awesome. The final PICOT project was easy to write and the assigned instructor was always there and available to guide you. Lots of resources were provided. Like any other nursing program, I had to take time to prepare myself for my certification. - Alum
- 2017 Graduate You can attend any program; it’s the work that you put in that you get out. FSC was not, overall, well organized. I have a couple instructors that I could RAVE about. But big picture, I was not left well prepared. Finding preceptors was difficult. That said, I put a load of work into my program; I had worked at the bedside for 27 years prior to obtaining my Masters. I chose real sites to immerse myself into what true practice would be like. These things MATTER. I think the program should be longer with a residency portion involved. - Alum
- Great programs, despite preceptor challenges. I earned my MSN in 2018 and DNP in 2022. Both programs greatly prepared me for my current NP role. I incurred challenges with locating preceptors during the MSN program. I attended local NP meetings, networked with colleagues, and visited local primary care clinics to overcome the challenges. There were a few challenges during the DNP program due to the COVID pandemic. The nursing program staff, financial aid staff, and library staff were very supportive and helpful during my years at FSC! A special thanks to Dr. Melanie Michael for her dedication to the DNP program and students! - Alum
- NP role The program equipped me with the essential tools to pass my certification and secure a job after graduation. The only downside I experienced was having to find my own preceptor during the program, which could be stressful at times. - Alum
- Florida Southern College The classes were very do-able with a busy work life. We had moms and dads and expectant mothers in class, who managed well. I was able to work full time, attend classes, and maintain all my preceptor hours for each semester. - Alum
