Ratings & Reviews §
25 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- One of my best decisions! May appear overwhelming at first but trust the process and work hard and you’ll get there! The faculty truly wants you to succeed and provides all necessary resources to help you achieve success. - Alum
- Awesome school and program Great educational experience Wonderful clinical experience Wonderful teachers Continued support - Alum
- Vanderbilt School of Nursing Vanderbilt School of Nursing did all of the work to secure preceptorship. I never had to worry about whether I would find a placement. I was well prepared for my boards and passed on the first try. I had a job within a few weeks! I highly recommend! - Alum
- A positive experience, but quite an investment The majority of my MSN degree at Vanderbilt was covered by a federal scholarship program. I mention that here, as it is relevant to the rest of my "review." I do think that, overall, my program was a positive experience. The number of students is quite high, but I don't feel that I was ever lacking in faculty support. Practicum sites were secured, as I lived in Nashville, but that does not necessarily mean they are always "ideal." (For example, child & adolescent psych sites are very limited, so I needed to drive nearly 2 hours one way to get those hours, which were primarily observation-based.) I do feel like I was well-prepared for beyond graduation, overall. In this day and age, NP programs are starting to look quite similar to one another. Would I invest my own funds into Vanderbilt over, say, another school that offered essentially the same services but for much less money? I'd have to consider it. - Alum
- It was an amazing experience/understanding profs All the preceptors were provided for us-that was awesome! The only cost was getting gas for the rural areas I was placed in and that was my choice. The university made the program doable and less stressful. - Alum
