- Supportive environment Wonderful experience. Supportive professors and administration. Appropriate preparation for exams and for clinical practice. - Alum
- Costly but valuable Exceptional training and educational opportunities, preceptors included as a "local" student, rigorous and fast-paced that limits outside employment or significantly divided attentions but compared to "real world" preparation and training is outstanding. Less focus on the business aspect, mostly on the medicine and patient safety/considerations (which is important, but does create a learning curve initially). A self-motivated adaptable adult will excel if they want to. - Alum
- Vanderbilt is wonderful for local students If you’re considering Vanderbilt for NP school congratulations! It’s a wonderful program, that will help you in achieving your goals and getting a job. However, please consider applying as a local student to ensure high quality preceptors that the school arranges for you. Students who live out of middle Tennessee will have to find there own preceptors, a terrible practice that does not guarantee high quality learning opportunities and adds stress to students. Over all, the program is wonderful and helped me to become accepted into a quality fellowship and quality first job! - Alum
- Best education Vandy was the absolute best education I could have gotten. I was so prepared for the work after school and stepped into my career seamlessly. The program is super well run and organized. The two negatives about the program are cost (it’s very expensive) and workload (it will be the only thing you do for 2 years). I wouldn’t have gone anywhere else, because the investment of my time and money has made me more prepared and well rounded as an NP - Alum
- Career Move My education at Vanderbilt University has excelled my career into Psychiatric Mental Health resulting in owning my own private practice psychiatric clinic. I have 10 psychiatric providers and 4 counselors who work for my company. I highly recommend Vanderbilt University. Vanderbilt will prepare you and mold you into top practitioners. I could have taken my local state university for my education, however, I wanted to challenge myself to a top tier school such as Vanderbilt. Again, I highly recommended Vanderbilt University if you want to be the best practitioner in your area. Their program will get you prepared for your certification exam. - Alum
