- Professional professors Professors were friendly, easy-to-approach and were all knowledgeable. - Alum
- Entry level masters Samuel Merritt had an excellent nursing program that prepared me very well for the NCLEX. On continuing to the nurse practitioner portion, it wasn’t quite as proactive, and because the schooling was about a week placed out, it was more difficult to learn effectively. I was able to work full-time while going to school for the NP. This definitely had quite a big effect on the ability to study as effectively as I wanted to for the NP portion. Overall, would say that Samuel Merritt was a really great school, but it is very pricey as well. One thing the note is that with six figures and loans, it takes a lot of time to pay these off with compounding interest as well. - Alum
- Good medicine, zero help with preceptors All in all, the education was good. However, looking back, I’d choose a local brick and mortar instead of an online program. There was zero help with clinicals/preceptors. I found all of my own preceptors. I paid for four, just to be sure I had enough hours. - Alum
- Would not recommend Poor education overall. I literally had a profesor tell me that we would not be prepared after graduating and that we should look for a fellowship/residency prior to going into practice because this education was not sufficient. - Alum
- SMU-my experience I only have one experience going through an NP program with nothing to compare it to. Pros: preceptor placement-done be school Samuel Merritt reputation in community, definitely beneficial for job hiring Cons: tuition is very expensive I ended up studying through a different online program-for boards, felt ill prepared after 3 years of school. - Alum
