6 reviews collected from current residents and alumni.- It’s a mediocre program It’s an expensive program with high turnover of professors. You will have to find your own preceptors as clinical placement is not guaranteed. - Alum
- Fairly priced, but somewhat disappointing I found the clinical preparation to be lacking. There is intense amount of busy work that does little to make you a better clinician. They also really struggle with clinical placements. At the time they had one coordinator and she wouldn't even respond when you found your own placement at times. Some of the faculty were condescending - Alum
- In-person to online program I enjoyed and valued APU the first half of obtaining my masters. But halfway through, the school switched from in-person to online. I am a person who learns better in class and struggle with virtual classes. For this reason, I scored my experience lowly or mid. I also had a difficult time finding my clinical placement due to APU’s short staff. - Alum
- Always great experiences. I met several professors. I have learned not just to be a good provider, but to be a great human being. My duties are caring both physical and spiritual of all my patients. - Alum
- Great experience I went to APU over 10 years ago, but when I went there, I loved the program. We had a very tight-knit group of NP students who went through the program together and we really supported and encouraged each other through the whole thing. The program was very heavy on group presentations, so it was important that we worked well together. I really liked that the school found our clinical placements for us. That was a huge benefit for me. I don’t know that they still do that, but I hope so. I had some wonderful professors at APU. They were encouraging and supportive and so knowledgeable. I felt supported when starting my first job out of school and I was well-prepared to pass my certification exam. I couldn’t have asked for more. - Alum
