- UMB review I thought UMass Boston was a great program. I felt very prepared to enter my field and thoroughly enjoyed the program. The clinicals were excellent and worked with several of my preceptors for years after. I felt our program and the experiences we had were better than many of the more expensive programs. - Alum
- UMass The UMass PMC FNP program was great as an already established NP. However they talked very minimally about board preparation and it quite literally took me 4 years to find a clinical experience. - Alum
- Loved it High quality education with lower student loans loved the professors the texts they chose and guidance given. - Alum
- Decent program This program was decent, but I was there during Covid pandemic, which made it difficult as we were not on campus as well as preceptor placement was extremely difficult and they do not help with placement. They also do not offer course to help you prepare for the boards, which I think would've been very helpful. Overall decent for the money. - Alum
- Umass Boston post masters FNP My time at UMass was invaluable. The teachers were amazing. However, I feel the classes were only geared to giving you the required hours to sit for the boards. I do not feel that they prepared me to accurately evaluate labs and diagnostic tests. However, I do not know if other programs teach you this information. If it were not for my years of emergency room and ICU experience as a registered nurse, I do not feel I would have had the knowledge needed to be the nurse practitioner I am today. I feel that programs should not only prepared to take boards, they should also prepare you to be able to manage patient care on day one at a job. Also, I had to find my own preceptors. The program does offer assistance with finding preceptors. More so if you live in Massachusetts, limited outside of the state. school is what you make out of it. Overall, I am extremely appreciative of my experience at UMass. - Alum
